Pulkes Band is a Balkan-Klezmer ensemble that formed in 2018 within the city of Jerusalem. The band has performed in a variety of festivals around the country and the world, and their performance takes listeners on an intoxicating Balkan journey, covering a range of genres from Afrobeat to Eastern European. The rhythm and groove of Pulkes do not let any buttocks stay on the chair! The band is made up of six musicians, a virtuosic brass section and a powerful rhythm section, that shake every stage. In 2022, while touring all over Israel, the band also released their first self-titled EP, and the first single “Rosmarinus” received over 100,000 views in the first week. Now, the band keeps growing their followers, generating high interest in the Israel and now global music scene as they make their TD JazzFest debut!
