Internationally-recognized Toronto-based tenor pan artist/educator Joy Lapps leads this Afro and Latin-Caribbean Jazz ensemble, The Joy Lapps Project, with whom she has performed at festivals including AfroFest, Toronto’s TD Jazz Festival and Antigua’s Moods of Pan Festival. Lapps has recorded on multiple albums for other artists including Johnny Reid’s Juno-Award winning What Love is All About and Positive Vibration, Gramps Morgan’s Grammy-nominated record. Lapps is planning the 2022 release of her forthcoming album, Girl In The Yard, and is in the development phase of a multi-disciplinary performance celebrating the contributions of women to the steelpan community.
