Born and raised in New York, Vancouver Island-based singer Frederika Ionescu started her music career in the classical realm with violin and piano before becoming a jazz vocalist. Now, with her talented band consisting of Rowan Farintosh on saxophones, Wes Carroll on guitar, Phil Albert on bass and Adam Robertson on drums, the Frederika Ionescu Quintet will take you on a journey of music ranging from jazz standards, modern jazz compositions, and some of Ionescu’s original music.
