Victoria Jazz Society

Chris Millington Quartet

Sunday, June 25 | Cameron Bandshell (Beacon Hill Park) | 1pm

Originally from Ottawa, Victoria-based saxophonist Chris Millington was transferred to the Naden Band of the Royal Canadian Navy in 1988 and became director of the jazz orchestra. Millington soon after created the Chris Millington Quartet, alongside other ensembles. He has performed with artists Sonny Stitt, Maureen Forester, The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, Juliette, David Foster, Hugh Marsh, Tommy Banks, Joe Turner, The Temptations, Nathan East, Hugh Fraser, Bill Ramsay and Pete Christlieb, and has opened for Roy Hargrove and for the Victoria Symphony twice. Performing a varied program of originals and jazz standards, as well as rocking blues, sultry sambas, and well-known show tunes, audiences will get a full-bodied taste of some great material. Tony Genge piano, Don Cox bass, Bradley Clarke drums

Free to attend at the Cameron Bandshell, Beacon Hill Park on Sunday, June 25.
